National Records of Scotland officials appeared before the Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee on 9 January 2020 to discuss matters related to Scotland’s Census 2021. We welcomed the opportunity to hear from the Committee and stand ready to deliver a census that is not only fit for this digital century, but most importantly, delivers for all of Scotland.
National Records of Scotland has considered all of the evidence relating to the sex question and accompanying guidance. NRS continue to recommend a binary sex question with self-identification guidance for the 2021 Census. The NRS Recommendation Report can be found here.
