National Records for Scotland (NRS) will obtain input from a variety of British Sign Language (BSL) users through face-to-face interviews to test a question on BSL for potential inclusion in Scotland’s Census 2021. Participants will be shown some potential census questions and asked for their thoughts on the questions.
All responses will be combined to provide information which will help NRS make decisions on the questions we will recommend to the Scottish Parliament for inclusion in the 2021 Census.
No personal information that may identify participants will be included in the report.
The recruitment period for these interviews has now concluded and selected participants will be notified by e-mail. Interviews are scheduled to take place over the next few weeks.
