Scotland’s Census 2031 consultation webinar - Demography and migration, housing, UK armed forces veterans
About this event
National Records of Scotland wants to hear from you about which topics to include in the 2031 census in Scotland. Your voice matters.
As part of our consultation for the next census, we are running three online sessions for stakeholders looking in more detail at particular topics.
- 10 September, 14:30-16:30: Ethnic group, national identity, language and religion, sexual orientation and trans status or history
- 17 September, 11:30-13:30: Demography and migration, housing, UK armed forces veterans
- 18 September, 14:00-16:00: Education, labour market and travel to work, health, disability and unpaid care
If you have any ideas or suggestions for new topics, please feel free to attend any of the three sessions.
What will happen at the event:
You'll hear directly from speakers about why census data is important, including how new topics from the 2022 census are already helping decision-makers across Scotland.
- Discuss priorities for census statistics with other stakeholders in the same policy areas
- We want to know how you currently use census data and how far it meets your needs
- Tell us what you need from future census topics about Scotland's homes, people and communities.
Who should attend:
We welcome everyone who uses or could benefit from census data, including community groups, researchers, service providers, advocacy organisations, local authorities, and businesses.
Session details:
Sessions last approximately 2 hours. You'll need internet access and preferably a computer or tablet with camera and microphone.
