Date(s) and location(s)
NRS held two focus groups in October 2017 to discuss some of the terminology used in the ethnic group question in Scotland's Census.
- Thursday 19 October 2017, New Register House, Edinburgh
- Thursday 26 October 2017, Atlantic Quay, Glasgow
Presentations and handouts
These events were a follow-up to our 2021 Census Topic Consultation and the Ethnicity, National Identity, Language and Religion - Topic event held in April 2017. NRS are developing the questions for the 2021 census, and discussion with stakeholders is an essential part of the process. At this event we sought the views of stakeholders who might have identified as ‘Caribbean or Black’ in the 2011 ethnic group question (as shown below).
Further development of the question set that we will recommend for the 2021 Census is underway, and will continue through 2017.
