Scotland's Census: Shaping Our Future

27.03.2011 Speedy return of 2011 Census questionnaires from Aberdeen Airport’s helipad

A North Sea oil crew signed in early for the 2011 Census because they will be hundreds of miles from home as the population survey takes place. Census Director Peter Scrimgeour with staff from Apache Oilfield Services

Staff from Apache Oilfield Services handed their completed questionnaires to Census Director Peter Scrimgeour at Aberdeen Airport’s helipad on Thursday morning before they begin their next stint offshore.

People can fill in and return the census questionnaire on or around 27 March.

Mr Scrimgeour said: “It is important that people who are away on census day itself reflect what their circumstances would have been if they were at home on 27 March. They can do that before they go or when they return, but doing that helps to make sure that funding for services is allocated to the areas where they spend most of their time.

“If the census misses anyone, you or someone you know could lose out. So anyone who has not received their questionnaire should request one from our website or helpline, and return it as soon as possible over the next few days.”
