Scotland's Census: Shaping Our Future

The online questionnaire closed on 20 April 2011. You must return a paper questionnaire now to avoid the risk of a fine up to £1,000.

Filling in your questionnaire online

You can fill in your Household Questionnaire online if there is an Internet Questionnaire Access Code (IQAC) printed on the front page of your paper questionnaire. You can fill in the questionnaire online in English or Gaelic.

If your questionnaire has an IQAC and you would like to fill it in online, you can do so here. Please make sure you enter the IQAC and postcode exactly as they appear on the questionnaire. The two different parts of your postcode must be entered in separate boxes.

If your questionnaire doesn’t have an IQAC, or you don’t have access to the internet, please fill in the paper questionnaire and return it to us in the pre-paid envelope provided.

Step-by-step instructions on how to fill in the online questionnaire are given as you go through it.

You will be asked to create a password before you start to fill in the questionnaire online. The password will allow you to come back and complete your questionnaire if you do not manage to do so in one session.

Before you start, please make sure that it is your address printed on the front page of the questionnaire.

If the printed address does not match your address, please do not fill in the questionnaire online. Contact the Helpline for assistance.

If you wish to fill in your questionnaire in Gaelic please click the Gàidhlig button at the top of the scotlandscensus homepage to switch to our Gaelic site. Should you enter the online questionnaire using an English link please note that there is no option to change the language from English to Gaelic.

Please also note that the language you select for filling in the questionnaire online (English or Gaelic) cannot be changed after you have logged in.

Answers to frequently asked questions about filling in online can be found on the how to fill in the questionnaire FAQ page.
