Results from the 2011 Census are being released on a phased basis with an aim to progressively improve the user experience with each release. We have launched the new Census Data Explorer which provides enhanced functionality.
The latest release of results, Release 2B, adds data on Education and Labour Market. These Key Statistics and Quick Statistics tables are available via the Census Data Explorer along with tables provided for Release 2A.
A statistical bulletin for Release 2B is provided separately.
The links below provide access to data released in previous formats.
Release 2A provides the first set of attribute (or topic) data from the 2011 Census. These results are delivered via a sub-set of Key Statistics and Quick Statistics tables covering:
- Ethnicity, Identity, Language, Religion
- Housing and Accommodation
The data are presented at Scotland, Council Area and Health Board level
Census Profile tables, similar to those produced in 2001, provide useful 'snapshot' summaries for each topic above and are also presented at Scotland, Council Area and Health Board level.
Release 2A follows on from Release 1 which provides unrounded population and household estimates and a range of geography products.
Further results from the census will be released as summarised below. Find out more in the Outputs Prospectus
- Release 2C (18th December 2013) - will comprise Key and Quick Statistics tables for the Living Arrangements topic at all levels of census geography.
- Releases 3 (from early 2014) - will provide the first cross-tabulations of census topics via Local Characteristics (LC) and Detailed Characteristics (DC) tables. As with Release 2, these tables will be published on a topic by topic phased release basis. Further information on the profile and timings for publication will be provided in the next update to the outputs prospectus.
