Welcome to Scotland's Census.

On this website you can find out about preparations for the next census, which is set to take place on 27 March 2011.

Scotland's Census is organised by the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) which rehearsed its plans for the next census in west Edinburgh, Lewis and Harris earlier this year.

The census collects information every 10 years about the characteristics of people and households in the country. It is used by central and local government, health authorities and many other organisations to plan and provide future services for everyone.
